Google beat Geico in court, which ruled Google was not liable if Geico's competitors used Geico as a trigger word to display their ads. The ruling was about using trademarked terms as keyword triggers, not about using keywords in paid ads.

WebAtlas penalized for 302 redirect. The error was quickly fixed and hopefully the site will be re included in Google soon.


Google updates toolbar PageRank.

Google Suggest - tool auto completes search queries based upon search volume - useful free keyword research tool.

WeBuildPages tool #9 - free tool shows unique linking domains, IP addresses, and site age. I believe it collects data from Yahoo! or one of their properties, and thus will even show links into inner pages. Please note that tool only looks at the first 1,000 links into a site.

A Theory of Indexing - 50 page book from 1975 with lots of charts and math, but in those few pages it has a ton of information about many of the ideas which current search technologies have been built upon.
